Abstract

The increasing use of buy now pay later services among generation Z reflects a shift in transaction behavior toward more digital, practical, and flexible payment methods. At the same time, this phenomenon raises various considerations related to financial management capability, lifestyle influences, and the ease of technology offered by digital financial services. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, hedonistic lifestyle, and ease of use on the intention to use SPayLater among generation Z in Denpasar City. The study was conducted on generation Z residing in Denpasar City with a sample of one hundred respondents. The sample was determined using a non-probability sampling method through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on the intention to use SPayLater. Hedonistic lifestyle also has a positive and significant effect on the intention to use SPayLater. Ease of use has a positive and significant effect on the intention to use SPayLater. Simultaneously, financial literacy, hedonistic lifestyle, and ease of use have a positive and significant effect on the intention to use SPayLater among Generation Z in Denpasar City. The findings imply that improving financial understanding, lifestyle-related considerations, and the usability of digital financial services plays an important role in encouraging the intention to use SPayLater among Generation Z.
