Abstract

The present study analyses the effects of leadership styles and motivation on investigators' performance at the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Bali Regional Police. The study uses a quantitative approach, with data collected through a questionnaire given to investigators at Ditreskrimsus of the Bali Regional Police. The data were analysed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method to test both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings suggest that leadership and innovation positively influence performance. In addition, the positive and significant effects of empowerment, leadership, digital leadership, and motivation on innovation have been demonstrated. The findings of the mediation test demonstrate that innovation partially mediates the influence of empowering leadership, digital leadership, and motivation on investigators' performance. Research shows that investigators' performance is influenced by leadership quality and motivation, as well as innovation in their duties. The Bali Regional Police must improve investigators' performance by strengthening digital leadership.
